Effective September 3, 2026 · Ureka Technologies, Inc.
Ureka helps parents reflect on conversations with their kids — and, optionally, on other recordings like meetings — by recording, transcribing, and analyzing them. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
01 Account information
To use Ureka, you create an account by either:
Signing in with Apple — Apple shares your name and email (or a private relay address, if you choose to hide it) and an identity token we use to verify you.
Registering directly — a username, an optional email, and a password (we store only a securely hashed version of your password, never the password itself).
02 Recordings & analysis
When you record or import audio, we collect:
The audio recording itself.
A transcript generated from that audio.
AI-generated analysis of the transcript — for a parent-child recording, this covers communication patterns and emotional tone; for a recording analyzed in Meeting Notes mode, this covers a summary and action items instead.
Basic metadata: when the recording was made, which analysis mode you selected, and whether you asked a follow-up question about it (and, if so, that conversation).
We only analyze audio you explicitly record or import within the app, and only for the purpose you select. Ureka never records in the background or without your action.
03 Who processes your data
To generate a transcript and analysis, your audio and transcript text are sent to the following processors under their own data-handling terms — we do not sell or share this data for advertising:
Groq
Speech-to-text transcription
DeepSeek
Conversation analysis
OpenAI
Fallback transcription/analysis
Apple

04 Storage & retention
Recordings, transcripts, and analysis are stored on our secure servers so you can revisit them, ask follow-up questions, and re-analyze a recording later — they remain until you delete them or delete your account. Locally, a recording also stays on your device until you upload it or remove it yourself.
05 Your controls
Delete a recording — swipe to delete any recording from the list at any time; this removes it from your device and, once synced, from our servers.
Delete your account — Settings → Account → Delete Account removes your account and associated data.
Location & time limits — if you configure recording limits in Settings, your location is used only to enforce them and is never stored or shared.
Auto-upload — Ureka never starts recording on its own; if you enable auto-upload, a finished recording uploads automatically until you turn that off.
06 Children's privacy & consent
Ureka is built for parents to reflect on their own conversations — it is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13.
If a recording includes a conversation with your child, you as the parent or legal guardian are responsible for that recording and its use.
Recording any conversation requires the consent of the people being recorded, or their parent/guardian, as required by applicable law in your location — please make sure everyone involved understands and agrees before you record.
07 Security
All data is transmitted between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, never in plain text.
08 Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
